2021.10.16 05:18 DaWhLi88 How strict are room inspections
i brought my own table to hold my keurig and my tv because there was literally nowhere in my room to put them other than my desk but they would’ve taken up the whole desk. It’s small and in the corner and I wanna know if they’re gonna say anything

2021.10.16 05:18 studentlyfe32 23M - Looking to make some new friends!
Hey everyone! I’m a 23 yr old from Canada and I just finished university a few months ago and started a new job. Hoping to talk to some new people and have some interesting convos!
As for interests, I’m really into swimming but I’m also into doing anything outdoors really like hiking as well. Even if we don’t have any interests in common, message me anyway! I love learning new things and about what other people are doing so I’m down to talk about anything.
Feel free to start up a chat! Start the convo with an embarrassing story, share a funny/interesting reddit post, your most controversial unpopular opinion, etc. Anything other than “hi” please lol

2021.10.16 05:18 ayomahollaback After how many years are you no longer considered entry level?
I’ve been working for the past 3.5 years (1 year as intern, 1 year as EE 1/2, 1.5 year as Project Engineer) designing controls for HV SF6 switchgear. I recently got my EIT certification and I want to pursue my P.E. license. Current issue is that my current employer doesn’t have any P.E.’s that can supervise me so I really don’t have no choice but to start looking for another career opportunity.
Now comes my dilemma…I’m a 24 year old EE and I don’t really view myself as very bright. Mostly because all my coworkers are 30+ years old and have 8+ years of experience and all the external engineers I deal with are much older, so I don’t know how to gauge myself in comparison to EE engineers my age in the same field. According to my ex-lead engineer and my current director I have picked up the concepts, theory, and overall knowledge of the work my company does much faster than previous engineers. They’ve even bragged that I have performed better than past senior engineers. Obviously, there’s still a lot regarding HV control theory that I still don’t know but they insist that just naturally comes with experience. So although I only have 2.5 years of actual experience in the field they have made it clear that my performance is that of a mid-level engineer who has been in the industry for 5+ years.
Now I’m looking into other jobs and I see a few positions for Protection & Control Engineers but they require (preferred qualifications) 5+ years of experience in Protection & Controls Engineering. I don’t have no where near 5 years of actual experience nor do I have any experience with protection schemes nor working with any protection relays. I’ve spoken to my ex-lead engineer and he has encouraged me to apply regardless. He praises my adaptability and willingness to learn as a reason alone of why I should not be bothered by some of these crazy requirements. If I was able to pick up HV control schemes, I am more than capable of learning protection schemes. If provided with the right resources and a good mentor I’m sure I can learn any new concepts.
I’ve seen some other positions but they are considered Entry Level. I’m currently making 81K. Obviously I’m not trying to take a pay cut and I’m hoping to get bumped to 90-95K in my next role. I highly doubt that an entry level position would offer such a high pay and I don’t know if recruiters would toss my application away if they see me applying for positions requiring 5+ years of experience and I only have 2.5 years of relevant HV experience.
I know this is a lot to read, but I would appreciate any input or advice on the matter. I just want to make sure I’m not selling myself short in our current job market.

2021.10.16 05:18 Stonky_Kong_ Why is debt recycling better than simply investing directly without putting into your home loan first?
Suppose I can easily make my mortgage repayments and can save well above this amount. Also suppose I am a first home buyer, initially with a high LVR, at or maybe even above 80%.
Scenario 1: You put as much money as quickly as possible into your home loan to decrease your LVR, then use your equity to obtain an investment loan and use that loan to invest in shares/ETFs.
Scenario 2: You put the minimum amount possible into your home loan and put the rest directly into shares ETFs.
It seems scenario 2 is a lot lower risk. Are there any advantages to scenario 1 over scenario 2? Thanks.

2021.10.16 05:18 Myst3rySteve If you trained crows to give you large amounts of money for snacks, would it technically be considered money laundering or would that be very technically completely legal?
I know many won't believe me, but this is truly just out of morbid curiosity and I legitimately have no plans to actually do this in real life.
The reason I'm asking is because I recently found out about a dude who got crows to give him pennies and nickels in exchange for food and I wondered what would happen if he specifically trained lots of them to fetch him 50's and 100's or something. I know those aren't something you commonly find just laying around on the sidewalk for a crow to find, hence it being an incredibly bizarre hypothetical.
If you somehow acquired enough money to comfortably live off of through this, or even upper-middle class, then would the government be just completely okay with that? If not, would it be money laundering? If not, how in the absolute fucking hell would that go in the books?
I haven't had a good bizarre, elaborate thought train in a little while, so this is really enticing for me.
